We wanted to elaborate on a forum topic found in the Boogie Forum:
Tube Rattle
Identifying tube rattle is relatively easy (especially with output or rectifier tubes).
Take each of the suspected tubes and shake them at ear level. See if you can hear anything. After that tap them lightly with a finger, and listen for a rattle.
This is pretty much foolproof method.
Other sources of rattle other than tubes can come from a loose speaker connection, loose sockets, intermittent grounding among other things.
